Aroma & Character
The UVA Highlands Pekoe unfolds a strong, robust aroma that will delight you with a brilliant red cup and a lingering taste. The first infusion shows sweet notes of root beer and a hint of mint and sage, paired with a gentle maltiness. The second infusion brings out smoky aromas and a slight astringency, while the sweetness recedes discreetly. A tea full of character that lingers on the palate with hints of citrus and metal and loses none of its depth and intensity even after a longer brewing time.

Origin
UVA Highlands Pekoe is grown on over 300 hectares in the UVA highlands of Sri Lanka, a region with ideal conditions for tea cultivation. The high-altitude climate, the mineral soils and the constant alternation of sun and fog give the tea its strong structure and the characteristic citrus and metallic notes that have made this region famous.
Specialities
This pekoe tea comes from the renowned UVA Highlands Tea Estate, one of the oldest tea gardens in Sri Lanka. Tea bushes grow here, some of which are over 100 years old – they are less productive, but their high-quality leaves give this pekoe tea its exceptional quality and characteristic rust-red color. The careful harvesting and processing of the large-leaf pekoe leaves produces a tea that brings out the typical strong aromas of the UVA region to the full and offers lovers of strong teas a special richness.
