Aroma & Character

This Sheng Pu-Erh impresses with its clear, light olive green in the cup and a harmonious aroma that gains in complexity with every infusion. At the beginning, an intense aroma of apricot and chocolate unfolds, accompanied by a tingling mouthfeel. Further infusions add notes of preserved apricot, chocolate and fir. The slight astringency gives the tea structure and depth without masking its mild sweetness. A tea that develops over many infusions, constantly revealing new nuances.

Grüner Tee Shincha
China Yunnan:

Origin

Produced in the Chinese province of Yunnan, which is considered the birthplace of Pu-erh tea. The tea is cultivated at an altitude of 1350 meters, where the subtropical climate, the clean mountain air and the mineral-rich soil create optimal conditions for the growth of the delicate tea leaves. These special conditions give the tea its clear, fine aroma and its ability to continue maturing over the years.

Specialities

The Lu Zhuang Sheng Pu-Erh is offered in a hard-pressed tablet form, which makes it easier to break off in portions. The tea leaves used are from 2018 and were pressed in 2019, which allows for continuous maturation and quality improvement. Sheng Pu-Erh, also known as “raw Pu-Erh”, is a traditional variant of Pu-Erh tea that is characterized by its natural, slow fermentation. In contrast to Shou Pu-erh, Sheng is not artificially post-fermented, but develops its multi-layered aromas and complex nuances over many years. It gains depth and character with increasing age. This authentic, most original form of Pu-erh tea is prized by connoisseurs for its incredibly complex aromas and changeability. The limited edition makes this tea an exclusive treat for collectors and lovers of high-quality teas. I am enthusiastic about this tea because it offers phenomenal value for money.
