Aroma & Character

This high-quality Long Jing from Meijiawu has a deep, nutty aroma reminiscent of roasted nuts and chocolate. Its savory, almost salty notes give it an extraordinary richness of taste. Subtle umami, a slight sweetness and subtle grassy nuances ensure a perfect balance. Later infusions reveal subtle notes of fir wood and vegetables, which underline the complexity of this tea.

Origin

This Long Jing comes from Meijiawu, one of the classic West Lake regions known for its outstanding tea quality. The optimal harvest time between the end of March and the beginning of April ensures the best leaf quality and a finely balanced aroma.

Specialities

Meijiawu is one of the most famous tea villages on West Lake in Hangzhou, known for its first-class Long Jing teas. The Wuniuzao cultivar used here is characterized by its early harvest time and its particularly nutty-soft taste profile. The traditional pan roasting preserves the fresh aromas, but at the same time gives the tea a gentle, lightly roasted note.
