Aroma & Character
This Dong Pian (= winter harvest) Oolong is characterized by an elegant, gentle aroma with floral and creamy notes. The very first infusion reveals subtle roasted aromas that blend with a light citrus freshness. Subsequent infusions bring out a milky softness, mineral nuances and a long-lasting sweetness. The special winter harvest produces particularly fine, slightly herbaceous notes reminiscent of jasmine and nectar.

Origin
The tea comes from the famous Ali Shan mountains in Taiwan, one of the most renowned growing regions for highland Oolong. Due to the cool winter nights and warm sunshine, the tea leaves develop an exceptionally fresh, floral aroma, which unfolds into a unique variety of flavors in the cup.
Specialities
Dong Pian literally means “winter slice” and describes a rare winter harvest that is only possible under certain climatic conditions. Warming rays of sunshine during the cold season awaken the tea bushes early from their winter dormancy, causing them to sprout fine, young leaves. These “unknowing” tea leaves are also called Bu-Zhi-Chun, which means “tea that does not know when spring is”. Processing requires the utmost precision in order to preserve the delicate aromas and produce a particularly clear, elegant Oolong.
