Australian lemon myrtle delights with an intense, refreshing lemon aroma – invigorating, clear and ideal for herbal tea blends, desserts & cakes.
Aroma & Character
Lemon myrtle exudes a particularly pure, fresh lemon aroma that is more intense than that of lemongrass or lemon peel. Slightly sweet and with a hint of eucalyptus and mint, its taste is clear and invigorating. The intensely lemony, refreshing taste does not fade with the 2nd and 3rd infusion. Lemon myrtle not only tastes incomparably good on its own, but can also be mixed perfectly with almost any other herbal tea or used for desserts, cakes and other culinary experiments.

Origin
Our lemon myrtle comes from controlled cultivation in Australia, where it develops ideal conditions for aroma and active ingredient content in a subtropical climate. Gentle drying preserves the essential oils in high concentrations.
Specialities
The leaves of lemon myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) contain an essential oil that consists primarily of citral – the main component of many citrus fragrances. Lemon myrtle has the highest known citral content of all plants, which has earned it the reputation of being the most citrusy of all herbs. The herb has a refreshing and invigorating effect, while at the same time balancing and calming.
Our lemon myrtle is tested in a German laboratory by Fresenius to ensure the highest quality and purity.
