Aroma & Character

This Sheng Pu-Erh from old tea trees unfolds an extraordinary balance of gentle sweetness, floral nuances and subtle smokiness. The first infusions reveal apple and vanilla notes before a fine peach sweetness and a light smokiness unfold. Subtle jasmine nuances emerge with increasing infusions, accompanied by a tingling, cooling sensation on the tongue. The amber-colored cup is crystal clear, the texture soft and round, and the aromas remain harmoniously balanced. Despite long infusion times, the tea remains mild, without astringency or bitterness, and its maturation is partly reminiscent of an aged white tea.

Origin

This Gushu Sheng Pu-Erh comes from Mengla, Xishuangbanna (Yunnan), one of the most renowned regions for Pu Erh teas. Centuries-old tea trees grow here.“Gushu” means that the leaves of this tea come from such old trees. Trees that have undergone many changes over the centuries contain a wealth of sought-after substances in their leaves, which produce unique flavor combinations and effects. The mixture of high-altitude mountain forests, mineral-rich soil and humid, subtropical climate gives the tea its unique character.
