Aroma & Character

This shincha is characterized by its intense sweetness and its creamy, round mouthfeel. Even the first infusion reveals a comparatively mild umami note, accompanied by a cooling effect on the tongue and delicate nuances of mint and fennel. In the later infusions, light vanilla and mushroom notes unfold, while a gentle astringency rounds off the taste. Thanks to the short steaming (asamushi), the tea remains clear and refreshing, but also invites experimentation with higher temperatures, which elicit surprising vegetable and spicy nuances.

Origin

The tea comes from the Kagoshima region in southern Japan, where the volcanic soils and mild, humid climate create ideal conditions for high-quality green tea. The nearby Sakurajima volcano enriches the soil with minerals and gives this tea its exceptional balance and depth.

Specialities

This hand-picked first flush in competition quality is made from the popular Yabukita cultivar, which is known for its clear sweetness and harmonious character. The short steaming (asamushi) gives this shincha a particularly fine aroma and preserves the delicate structure of the leaves. With its versatility and elegance, this tea is a real treat for green tea lovers who value premium quality.
