Aroma & Character

The Dong Ding Qingxin Special develops a multi-layered and harmonious aroma, which is the result of a combination of different cultivars. The first infusion is dominated by woody notes, a light citrus freshness and a hint of cucumber, accompanied by sweet roasted aromas and a hint of cinnamon. The second infusion produces a raisin aroma and a pleasant cooling effect on the tongue, while the roasted aromas remain discreetly in the background. From the fourth infusion, mineral accents are added to round off the tea, albeit with a somewhat weaker intensity. The soft-sweet base note remains noticeable in all infusions and ensures a pleasantly long finish.

Schwarzer Tee, Pu Erh
Taiwan:

Origin

The Dong Ding Special comes from a tea garden in the Dong Ding region of Taiwan. The foggy mountain climate and the mineral-rich soil create ideal conditions for the growth of the various cultivars, whose aromas are particularly clear and nuanced due to the altitude. The blend of these cultivars in a single tea is a rarity and makes this Oolong particularly exciting.

Specialities

This Dong Ding Oolong is a special blend of cultivars harvested and processed in one garden to create a unique flavor profile. In addition to the classic Qingxin cultivar, Qingxin Da Pang, Qingxin Da Mo, Hongxin, Wuyi cultivars and Jin Xuan were also included in the processing. This unusual combination gives the tea its complexity and complex taste. The careful roasting creates subtle roasted aromas that do not overpower the natural character of the leaves, but harmoniously complement them.
